because under water currents make more trenches causing alot more pressure on tectonic plates of the earth, pushing lava up alot more and alot harder. this also may CREATE volcanoes making lives become threatened. Remember, keep a bottle of water just in case!

The main reason is that, today, there are more lives to threaten than there were 100 years ago.
When a volcano erupts the ash that comes up from the volcano helps to create a fertile land that can help people grow crops and raise livestock on it.
History also has proven that a volcano can go dorment for years even centuries before erupting again.
Look at Mt. Vesvius for example.
In 79 AD before the mountain below its cork and took out Pompeii and Herculanium so called well known volcanologiests thought for a long time that the volcano was exctint instead it was just dormont instead.
