The Secret Caribbean – North American Premiere Fridays Nov. 5 to 19, 2010 at 7 pm 3 / 60 minutes Caribbean-born Trevor McDonald travels the 2000 miles across the Caribbean experiencing the incredible extremes that make this region so unique. From the private island of a billionaire to communist Cuba, rare sightings of giant turtles in Grenada to violent volcanic eruptions in Montserrat – this compelling three-part series is a rich and beautiful voyage of discovery.
This show is absolutely BRILLIANT! One of the best shows on television, EVER!
Greetings from Chicago, USA
Sir Trevor was the first black tv news anchor for the BBC…Listening to him, I never would have guessed that he was born in the caribbean, and, moreover, Trinidad…I must confess that of all the caribbean accents, the Trinidadian one is my least favourite…Interestingly, like Sir Trevor, another caribbean native, from the Bahamas, the legendary Sidney Poitier, when he moved to the US, he began listening to the radio a lot, as a means through which to change his thick caribbean accent.
@CardiganSnoopy he trained as A British newsreader. As a black man he was never gonna get a job souding like a Trini!
He said he spent his first 30 years in the carribean, my father left Pakistan at 16 and still has a light accent, why is Sir Trevors accent so regal? (No stereotypical offence intended)
The theme tune can now be heard on You Tube.
