This was filmed in April of 2007 on the Big Island of Hawaii. The volcano is called Mauna Loa and is constantly sending lava daily into the sea. When I was filming this the heat was UNbearable. When you get this close You don’t want to fall over in the wrong place. I was about 3 to 4 feet at certain places and had to keep a safe distance, in case the lens on my camera melted. When I went to the ocean to film the lava coming into the ocean, I had to stay a safe distance away because the smoke you see are actually sulphuric fumes.
