During April 2010, Iceland’s volcano, Eyjafjallajökull brought Europe to a standstill by spewing out tons of ash and smoke which closed air space and disrupted flights across Europe, Scandinavia and Russia for 6 days. Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royalty were amongst the millions of traveller’s whose plans were curtailed – proving that Mother Nature is even more powerful – and left stranded for days as flights were cancelled as countries shutdown their airspace for safety reasons as the volcano’s cloud of smoke and ash covered Europe.
